Restoration of historic seaside Villa

Belmont, a Grade II* house in Lyme Regis, was built for Eleanor Coade, whose Lambeth workshop supplied moulded decorations used extensively in Regency-period architecture. The house had experienced a chequered history of extension, partial demolition and inappropriate development over the last 150 years. The Landmark Trust acquired the house to make it available as a holiday let. We secured planning and listed building consent for proposals which will give this neglected building a new and sustainable purpose, and renewed prominence within the townscape of this historic seaside resort. The project has won a Georgian Award and the RICS South West Conservation Award. Photos courtesy of Landmark Trust.
