Works are progressing well and we are still progressing as per the programme on The Soane Stables site.

The removal of the concrete slab, which was poured in the 60, has been completed and the installation of the block trench for service has started, including the setting out and the insertion of the first pre-cast lintel.

The scaffolding assembly in the courtyard has been completed and this will be followed by the start of the reconstruction of the chimneys of the West and South ranges. The new chimneys, replacing those lost to bomb damage during WWII, will be reconstructed using original Soane details thanks to the detailed archive drawings and photographs. We will be using London Stock reclaimed bricks and new mulberry bricks made by hand by Bulmer.

Messenger and PBA are very excited about the start of this challenging construction and we are looking forward to reporting on the progress in the next few weeks.
